So…it’s been a while. I apologize for the inexcusable silence, but I’m back now, and have quite a bit to share with you.
It’s summertime, and things are really picking up. Firstly, the film “Keep on Keepin On” has been premiering at festivals all over the world, and the reception has been amazing! It has won several Audience Choice awards and my buddy, Al Hicks, has received a number of directorial debut awards as well. It’s been a thrill sharing Clark Terry’s beautiful soul with so many folks! Al Hicks, Adam Hart, and company did an amazing job of telling this story, and I can’t wait for you to get a chance to check it out! Dates for the theatrical releases should be announced soon, so I encourage you to check the site for updates and see if it’s coming to a theatre near you!
Secondly, I’m very, very excited to share that I’ll be heading into the studio with the band to record my second CD. I’ve been working hard on a lot of new music these last few months, and ready to get in there and record. It’s taken a while, but I’m glad for the time to let the music grow. If things go well, the CD will be available mid to late August, and you can be assured of updates as it develops.
Well, that does it for now. I’m off to France to join Quincy Jones and company to show the film and do a little playing. Thank you so much for your support and love, and I hope to be able to catch up soon!
